The Jive Five

The Jive Five were a classic doo-wop group from Brooklyn, New York, best known for their smooth harmonies and timeless hits. Formed in the late 1950s, the group was fronted by Eugene Pitt, whose rich, soulful voice became a signature element of their sound. They made a big splash with their 1961 debut single "My True Story," which climbed the charts and helped cement their place in doo-wop history.

Over the decades, The Jive Five continued to perform and evolve, making a notable transition into creating music for children's television in the 1980s and '90s, including catchy jingles for Nickelodeon. Despite lineup changes and the passage of time, the group maintained a strong following and continued performing, with Eugene Pitt remaining a central figure until his passing in 2018. Their legacy lives on through their recordings and their contributions to both classic R&B and pop culture.
