Blue Floyd

Blue Floyd was a unique musical project that brought together talented musicians from various notable bands. The group consisted of Allen Woody (guitar) and Matt Abts (drums) from Gov't Mule, Marc Ford (guitar) formerly of the Black Crowes, Barry Oakley Jr. (bass), and Johnny Neel (keys) from the Allman Brothers Band. Formed as a tribute to Pink Floyd, Blue Floyd reinterpreted Pink Floyd's iconic music with a blues twist. The band's lineup was a testament to the versatility and creativity of its members, who came together to create a distinctive sound that blended blues and rock elements. Their live performances were highly regarded, featuring extensive jam sessions and guest appearances by other notable guitarists like Jimmy Herring and Alvin Youngblood Hart.
