Sofia Jannok

Sofia Jannok is a Swedish Sámi singer, songwriter, and activist known for blending traditional joik — the Sámi style of song — with elements of pop, indie, and electronica. Born in Sápmi, the traditional territory of the Sámi people in northern Scandinavia, Jannok uses her music to raise awareness about Indigenous rights, climate justice, and the protection of Sámi culture and land. She often sings in Northern Sámi, as well as Swedish and English, making her work a vibrant and powerful voice for Sámi identity and resistance.

Over the years, Sofia Jannok has gained acclaim for her thought-provoking lyrics and distinctive sound, featured in albums like ORDA – This Is My Land and tracks such as "We Are Still Here" and "10 000 åren."
