Obsidian Kingdom

Obsidian Kingdom is a genre-defying band from Barcelona, Spain, known for their bold mix of progressive metal, post-rock, electronic, and experimental influences. Since forming in 2005, they’ve gained a reputation for crafting immersive concept albums and an ever-evolving sound that resists easy categorization. Their debut full-length, Mantiis (2012), was a single-song concept album split into multiple tracks, showcasing cinematic shifts in tone and atmosphere — instantly setting them apart in the metal underground.

Following up with A Year With No Summer (2016), produced by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Ghost), the band embraced a cleaner, more alternative and post-rock-oriented sound, drawing comparisons to artists like Katatonia and Mogwai. MEAT MACHINE (2020) marked another stylistic shift, blending industrial, noise rock, and abrasive synths with their signature intensity.
