Lawrence Golan is an American conductor and violinist who's been making waves in the classical music scene. He's currently juggling multiple roles as Music Director for the Yakima Symphony Orchestra in Washington, the York Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania, and the Lamont Symphony Orchestra at the University of Denver. Golan's got some serious violin chops too - he used to be the concertmaster for the Portland Symphony Orchestra before focusing on conducting.
Golan's not just about waving the baton - he's also a composer and arranger. His reduced orchestration of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" is used by orchestras across North America and Europe. He's even penned a book on preparing musical scores called "Score Study Passes". When he's not on the podium, Golan's passing on his knowledge as the Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Denver, where he's been racking up awards for innovative programming.
