Hagfish

Hagfish was a punk rock band from Dallas, Texas, known for their energetic sound and witty lyrics. Formed in the early 1990s, the band drew influence from hardcore and melodic punk, blending fast-paced rhythms with catchy hooks. Their 1995 album, Rocks Your Lame Ass, released on London Records and produced by Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton of Descendents/ALL fame, gained them a cult following and is often cited as a highlight of '90s punk.

The band featured brothers Zach and Doni Blair—Zach on vocals, and Doni on guitar—alongside bassist Josh Hamlin and drummer Tony Barsotti. Known for their engaging live shows and humorous flair, Hagfish earned critical praise even as they navigated shifts in lineup and record label challenges. Though they disbanded in the early 2000s, members went on to contribute to other projects; notably, Doni Blair later joined the instrumental rock band The Toadies. Hagfish remains a fondly remembered part of the '90s punk landscape.
