**Leila** (born Leila Arab) is a British-Iranian electronic music innovator who’s been bending genres since the ’90s with her glitchy, soulful soundscapes. A former collaborator with Björk and member of the experimental group 808 State, she carved her own path with solo albums like *Like Weather* (1998) and *Blood, Looms & Blooms* (2008), which mash together IDM, trip-hop, and avant-garde pop with raw, emotional vocals. Her recent work—including moody, textured tracks like “thirteen,” “(disappointed cloud) anyway,” and the remastered edition of her debut—shows she’s still a master of dissonant beauty, blending haunting melodies with fractured beats.
