Mei Semones is an American artist known for her unique blend of jazz-influenced indie rock, singing in both English and Japanese. Born in 2000 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she honed her musical skills at the Berklee College of Music before emerging onto the scene with her debut EP *Tsukino* in 2022, followed by *Sukikirai* the same year. Mei's 2024 EP *Kabutomushi* further showcased her sophisticated style, combining indie rock, bossa nova, jazz, and chamber pop, earning her recognition such as Paste's "The Best of What's Next" and praise from Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. She is based in Brooklyn, NY, and has been building a devoted following through touring and her upcoming debut album *Animaru*, set to release in May 2025.
