Got roots deeper than the mountains my people come from. I chase the authenticity in every note—whether it's the raw ache of country blues, the clever storytelling of old folk ballads, or the timeless swing of jazz that makes you want to move. There's something about music that's lived in, that's got history and dirt under its fingernails, that just speaks to my soul. I'm equally comfortable with Hank's heartbreak, the rhythmic independence of John Lee Hooker's guitar, or discovering forgotten traditional melodies from corners of the world most folks never think about.
