Perpetually caught between centuries, finding more truth in a harpsichord's temperamental voice than in most modern conveniences. I collect baroque recordings like others collect experiences—each ornament in a Handel aria feels like a small rebellion against the disposable. Classical training meets obsessive curiosity; I'm equally likely to spend an evening parsing the mathematical precision of Vivaldi or getting lost in the raw emotional weight of Purcell's laments. Renaissance polyphony, chamber intimacy, the theatrical grandeur of Strauss—there's a particular kind of ache in historical music that contemporary work rarely achieves, and I've made it my life's work to understand why.
