František Kop Quartet

The František Kop Quartet is a vibrant part of the Czech jazz scene, founded in 1995 by saxophonist František Kop. The group made its debut at the Prague Spring Festival, showcasing a blend of contemporary modern jazz. Over the years, the quartet has featured several notable Czech jazz musicians, but its current lineup includes pianist Petr Malásek, bassist Martin Lehký, and drummer Pavel "Bady" Zbořil. Their repertoire is heavily influenced by František Kop's compositions, which span a wide stylistic range within modern jazz. The quartet has released several albums, including "Twinkle" (2000), a live album "Jazz Na Hradě," and "News of the Past" (2021).
