Cloney

Rosemary Clooney (May 23 1928 – June 29 2002) was an American singer and actress whose rich, unpretentious voice made her one of the leading pop and jazz vocalists of the mid‑20th century; born in Maysville, Kentucky, she rose to fame in the early 1950s with the hit “Come On‑a My House” and followed it with a string of popular songs such as “Botch‑a‑Me,” “Mambo Italiano,” “Tenderly,” “Half as Much,” “Hey There,” “This Ole House,” and “Sway,” while later establishing a respected career as a jazz interpreter with recordings for Concord Jazz; she signed with Columbia Records after moving to New York, worked closely with A&R man Mitch Miller, and also appeared in films including the classic “White Christmas,” was married three times (to actor José Ferrer from 1953‑1961, a brief second marriage in the mid‑1960s, and finally to Dante DiPaolo from 1997 until her death), and was the mother of five children, among them actor Miguel Ferrer, before passing away in Beverly Hills, California.
