Silver Liz

**Silver Liz** is a Brooklyn-based husband-and-wife duo made up of Carrie and Matt Wagner. Originally from Chicago, the pair has roots in the Midwest music scene, having opened shows for local veterans like Panda Riot and winning 100% Electronica's Battle of the Bands in VR competition in early 2021. Their sound is refreshingly hard to pin down—they've shifted through shoegaze, dance, and dream pop across their releases, refusing to be confined to a single genre.

The duo's songwriting approach is collaborative yet distinct: Carrie and Matt each bring their own creative angles to the table, with Carrie typically leaning toward softer, more wistful dream pop sensibilities, while Matt crafts songs with more rambunctious energy and teenage angst. Their 2022 album *It Is Lighter Than You Think* was released through their own label, Extremely Pure, showcasing an eclectic collection that draws inspiration from composer John Cage and explores themes of nostalgia, regret, and reflection. They recorded vocals and guitar for their latest work over two weeks in 2023 at a friend's studio in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Most recently, they released their third full-length album, *III*, on January 30, 2026.
