Dave Cousins is best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the British folk-rock band Strawbs. With a career that spans more than five decades, Cousins has been a central figure in the evolution of progressive and folk rock, guiding the Strawbs from their early folk roots into more electric, symphonic territory by the 1970s. His distinctive voice and lyrical storytelling have become trademarks of the band's sound.
Outside of Strawbs, Cousins has released a number of solo projects showcasing his songwriting depth, including albums like Two Weeks Last Summer and The Boy in the Sailor Suit. He’s also worked with other iconic musicians, most notably keyboardist Rick Wakeman, in collaborative performances and recordings.
