Framus Five is a legendary Czech rock band fronted by singer-songwriter Michal Prokop, blending blues, soul, and rock with poetic Czech lyrics since the 1970s. Originally forming in 1969, the band became a staple of Czechoslovakia’s rock scene, known for Prokop’s gravelly vocals and socially conscious storytelling. After a hiatus in the 1980s, they reunited in the 2000s, releasing compilations like *Už Je To Napořád 2000-2012* and fresh material such as *Ostraka* (2020), proving their timeless appeal. Their work, including fan favorites like *Mohlo by to bejt nebe* and *Až Si Pro Mě Přijdou…*, reflects a mix of introspective ballads and groove-driven anthems. Still active today, Framus Five remains a bridge between generations, celebrated for their gritty authenticity and Prokop’s status as a national music icon.
