Sam Wood

Sam Wood is a British musician and songwriter born on March 26, 1989, known primarily as the lead guitarist for the hard rock bands Black Star Riders and Wayward Sons. After graduating from Leeds Conservatoire in 2010, he played in various bands around Leeds before co-founding the alternative rock band Treason Kings. In 2017, he joined Wayward Sons, contributing to three charting albums and performing at major rock festivals and iconic venues. More recently, in November 2022, he became a member of Black Star Riders, further cementing his reputation in the hard rock scene. Sam is noted for his classic rock guitar tone and is an endorsee of Gibson and Flattley pedals, especially known for his use of the Flattley wah pedal that captures the signature wah sound of Thin Lizzy’s Brian Robertson.

In addition to his band work, Sam Wood has released solo material as well, including albums like "Premonition" (2021), showcasing his versatility in the rock and pop/rock genres. His guitar style and songwriting reflect a blend of modern and classic rock influences, making him a respected figure within the UK rock music community.
