Flowing Tears

Flowing Tears is a German gothic metal band known for their emotive melodies and the compelling voice of their lead singers. Formed in 1994 under the initial name Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers, the band underwent a transformation in both membership and musical direction over the years. Their early work, characterized by its melancholic doom metal influences, gave way to a more streamlined gothic metal sound as they shortened their name to Flowing Tears.

With the release of "Jade" in 2000, the band gained critical acclaim within the gothic metal scene, displaying a matured style that intertwined dark atmosphere with accessible metal riffs and ethereal vocals, marking it as a staple release in their discography. As the band evolved, albums like "Serpentine" (2002) and "Razorbliss" (2004) showcased a steady refinement in their sound, with the latter introducing the band's new frontwoman, Helen Vogt, whose voice further defined the band's signature sound. "Razorbliss" in particular stood out for its powerful blend of aggression and melody. Their live performances, captured in albums like "Invanity - Live in Berlin" (2007), reinforce their dynamism and ability to connect with audiences. "Thy Kingdom Come," a compilation released in 2008, serves as a testament to the band's musical journey and contributions to the genre. Despite their more recent inactivity, the legacy of Flowing Tears remains in the evocative and poignant music that they have left behind for the gothic metal community.
