Freddy Weller

Freddy Weller is an American country singer and guitarist who first gained wider attention in the late 1960s as a member of the pop group Paul Revere & the Raiders. Before his solo success, he also worked as a songwriter and musician, including co-writing the hit “Dizzy” (famously recorded by Tommy Roe) and writing “Jam Up and Jelly Tight,” which became a notable early cut for Elvis Presley.

In the 1970s, Weller shifted firmly into country music and scored a run of charting singles, including “Games People Play,” “These Are Not My People,” and “Indian Lake.” Known for a smooth, easygoing vocal style and a blend of country and pop sensibilities, he became a familiar presence on country radio during that era, with albums and live recordings that captured his straightforward, crowd-friendly approach.
