Fatamorgana is a synth-pop/post-punk duo that originated from the vibrant underground music scene of Barcelona, Spain. The band consists of Patrycja Proniewska and Louis Harding, who initially came together musically as part of the punk outfit Belgrado. Their musical journey as Fatamorgana began with the release of Terra Alta in February 2019. This album project, guided by Proniewska's ethereal vocals and Harding's new wave-infused synthesizer sounds, provides a fresh revival of the 80s synth-pop essence while incorporating modern sensibilities, leading to a hypnotic and forward-thinking body of work.
The duo continued to evolve their sound with subsequent releases such as "La Atlantida," which deepens their enchantment with mythical themes and electronic landscapes. With their following EPs, "Ahora Aquí, Todavía No" and "El Uróboro," Fatamorgana has cemented their place in the modern synth scene, merging haunting melodies with pulsating rhythms. Their music weaves a narrative that is at once nostalgic and novel, creating a space where listeners can lose themselves in the synthesis of retro-futuristic sounds and avant-garde aesthetics. Fatamorgana's artistic expression redefines the boundaries of contemporary electronic music by paying homage to its roots while exploring uncharted territories. Their work is characterized by an international appeal, resonating with audiences who have a penchant for dark, dreamy, and melodious synth waves.
