Esquimaux

Esquimaux is a musical project that originated as a studio endeavor, featuring Heather Brown on vocals, Graham Dodge on guitar, and James Sajor on guitar, bass, and production. The group made their live debut at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles in 2004 and also appeared on KCRW 89.9's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" that same year. Heather Brown has collaborated with Gary Jules, known for his cover of "Mad World," and has performed with notable artists like Beck and Sheryl Crow. James Sajor was part of the influential D.C. screamo band Anasarca and has worked with Glenn Branca. Graham Dodge contributes not only musically but also as the band's visual artist. Their discography includes EPs like "Esquimaux," "perfecto," "Tiger," and "Wolf," along with singles such as "Gleaming the Truth" and "It Goes Away."

The members of Esquimaux have diverse musical influences, with Heather favoring artists like Enya and Dar Williams, James drawn to My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth, and Graham enjoying a mix of Mike Patton and They Might Be Giants. This blend of influences contributes to their unique sound. The band frequently performs at venues like the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles and has also played at other notable clubs in the area.
