Diathra

Diathra is a Belarusian metal band formed in 1995 by Dmitriy Laptenok and Dmitriy Tracevski in Mogilyov, Belarus. They started out playing melodic death metal, heavily influenced by early Swedish death metal bands like Dark Tranquillity and In Flames. Their debut album, *Wistful Autumn Dance*, was released in 2002 through the Russian label Stygian Crypt Productions and featured a blend of death metal with melodic and atmospheric elements. Over time, the band’s lineup changed, and by their 2008 release *My Endless Sorrow*, their sound shifted toward gothic metal with strong female vocals, echoing early Within Temptation vibes. Diathra has continued evolving their style, with their latest 2025 album *Our Death Scenario* representing their ongoing presence in the rock and metal scene.
