Fridthjov Anderssen (1876–1937) was a Norwegian composer and organist who spent much of his life contributing to the musical life of Bodø. Born in Moldjord, Beiarn, he began his musical education early under the guidance of Bodø's first church organist, and later studied organ and piano at the Peter Lindeman Conservatory in Oslo. He also pursued studies at the Leipzig Conservatory in Germany, where he honed his skills in organ performance and composition. Anderssen served as an organist at Bodin Church from 1895 to 1901 and was active as a conductor of Bodø’s orchestra and choir associations, often composing music specifically for them. Throughout his career, he played a key role in the development of classical and choral music in northern Norway.
Known for both his compositions and his work as an organist and choir conductor, Anderssen remained a central figure in the cultural scene of Bodø until his death in 1937. His music includes chamber works, organ pieces, and choral compositions, reflecting his deep roots in church music and his dedication to local musical communities.
