Kavinsky

Kavinsky, born Vincent Belorgey on July 31, 1975, in Seine-Saint-Denis, France, is a musician primarily recognized for his distinctive style of electronic or synthwave music, which pays homage to the sound and culture of the '80s. Before his foray into music, Kavinsky pursued an acting career, but he eventually found his calling when he started creating music in the early 2000s. His music gained widespread recognition after his track "Nightcall" was featured in the opening sequence of the critically acclaimed 2011 film "Drive," which became a defining moment in his career, cementing his place in the music industry.

Kavinsky's sound is characterized by its nostalgic retrofuturism, infusing modern electronic music with elements of video games and movie soundtracks from the past. His debut album "OutRun," released in 2013, is a conceptual piece revolving around his alter ego, a character who crashes his car in 1986 and re-emerges as a zombie to make electronic music. The album was a commercial success and solidified the distinctive Kavinsky sound that his fans adore. His more recent releases, such as "Renegade," "Zenith," and a variety of remixes for "Cameo," showcase his continuing evolution as an artist who remains true to his roots while embracing contemporary music production techniques.
