Francesca Remigi is a powerhouse drummer, composer, and improviser hailing from Bergamo, Italy, now calling New York City home. Growing up in a musical family in a small northern Italian village, she fell in love with drums at age five after watching her dad play in a big band, kicking off lessons with Maestro Stefano Bertoli and later adding five years of classical piano; she went on to study at Conservatorio G.Verdi in Milano (graduating in 2017 after an Erasmus stint in the Netherlands), earned her Master's at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels under Stéphane Galland in 2020, and snagged a full scholarship to Berklee's Global Jazz Institute with Danilo Pérez, spending time in Boston and NYC.
As a bandleader, she's dropped killer albums like *Il Labirinto dei Topi*, *The Human Web*, *WITCHESS*, *Empowered Kind*, and *Confini Labili*, often weaving in personal stories of trauma, mental health, eating disorders, domestic violence, and feminist themes inspired by thinkers like Angela Davis and Silvia Federici. A Nuova Generazione Jazz 2021 and Top Jazz 2022 winner, she's praised by heavyweights like Dan Weiss and Steve Lehman, tours globally, teaches, and pushes boundaries with electronics, vocals, and interdisciplinary vibes—proving female drummers can dominate any scene.
