Obsidian Sea

Obsidian Sea is a doom metal band formed in 2009 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The band draws inspiration from otherworldly experiences, myths, and the deeper corners of the human psyche, contrasting with the superficiality of everyday life. Initially, the band consisted of Anton Avramov (guitars, bass, and vocals) and Bozhidar Parvanov (drums). Over time, they expanded to a trio with the addition of Ivaylo Dobrev on bass in 2012, and later, Delyan Karaivanov took over bass duties in 2016. Obsidian Sea has released several albums, including "Between Two Deserts" (2012), "Dreams, Illusions, Obsessions" (2015), "Strangers" (2019), and "Pathos" (2022), showcasing their evolving sound within the doom metal genre.

Their music often explores themes that resonate with fans of traditional doom metal, while also incorporating elements that reflect their unique inspirations. Obsidian Sea has performed alongside notable bands like Ufomammut and 1000mods, contributing to the growth of the doom-stoner-sludge scene in Bulgaria. Their discography includes tracks like "I Love the Woods," "Mythos," and "Sisters," which are part of their latest album "Pathos," available on platforms like Bandcamp.
