Ensemble Elyma

Ensemble Elyma is an early music ensemble specializing in the baroque musical heritage of Latin America. Led by the renowned conductor Gabriel Garrido, the ensemble has been instrumental in uncovering and performing lesser-known works from this region. Their repertoire includes compositions by notable figures such as Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco and Domenico Zipoli, among others. Ensemble Elyma has released several critically acclaimed albums, including titles like *Musique à la Cité des Rois* and *San Ignacio: L'opéra perdu des missions jésuites de l'Amazonie*, which highlight their focus on rediscovering and interpreting the rich musical legacy of Latin America during the Baroque period.

Ensemble Elyma's work is part of a broader series titled *Les Chemins du Baroque*, which Garrido initiated in the early 1990s. This series has contributed significantly to the recognition and appreciation of Latin American Baroque music globally. Through their performances and recordings, Ensemble Elyma continues to enrich our understanding of this unique musical heritage, bringing to life the vibrant sounds of a bygone era.
