Cruelty of the Heavens

Cruelty of the Heavens is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2016. The band consists of lead singer and guitarist Neal Bledsoe, bassist Jared Filsinger, and drummer Samuel Davidson. They are known for their dynamic sound, which blends post-punk and shoegaze influences. The band's music often features contrasting elements, both musically and lyrically, creating a unique listening experience. Some of their notable releases include "Nothin's Cool" and "Grow Up and See," showcasing their ability to craft engaging and emotive songs.

The band's name is inspired by Carl Jung's writings, specifically a passage about the gnostic deity Abraxas. This reflects their eclectic approach to music and themes. Cruelty of the Heavens has released music through My Name Is Judas Records, including the EP "Nothin's Cool," which was quietly released on Valentine's Day in 2020.
