Stefan Stuligrosz

Stefan Stuligrosz (1920–2013) was a beloved Polish conductor, composer, and choral music legend best known as the founder of the Poznań Nightingales, one of Poland’s most celebrated boys’ choirs. A lifelong champion of sacred and classical music, he dedicated his career to preserving and revitalizing Renaissance-era works and Polish choral traditions. His meticulous arrangements and heartfelt interpretations turned timeless carols, hymns, and liturgical pieces into accessible treasures for modern audiences, earning him national admiration and international acclaim.

Though he passed away in 2013, Stuligrosz’s legacy thrives through recordings like *Najpiękniejsze Polskie Kolędy* and *Chants des Renaissances italienne et polonaise*, which showcase his ensemble’s crystalline harmonies and emotional depth. From solemn Lenten hymns (*Pieśni wielkopostne i wielkanocne*) to globally inspired carols (*Carols of the World*), his work remains a gateway to Poland’s rich musical heritage—a testament to his lifelong mission of blending reverence with artistry.
