William Child
William Child was a pretty big deal in the English music scene way back in the 17th century! We're talking the Baroque period, so think powdered wigs and fancy harpsichords. He was primarily a composer and organist, and he held some seriously prestigious positions, including organist at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, and later at the Chapel Royal.
Child was known for his sacred choral music, and his anthems and services were staples in English cathedrals for generations. He even had a hand in the coronation music for Charles II!
