Diving Bells

Diving Bells is an alternative band from Ireland, known for their energetic and noisy soundscapes. Originally formed in South Korea by two Irish ex-pats and a drum machine in early 2013, the band has undergone changes over the years. The current lineup includes Padraig Kelly on guitars and vocals, Niall Cooney on bass, Johnny Cole on guitar, and Samuel Martin on drums. This configuration emerged from the ashes of another Dublin alt-rock band, Borders of Sleep. Diving Bells have released several EPs, including *Always Searching for Sleep* in 2020, before moving on to their debut album, *Have Taken to Bed*. This album is characterized by its blend of fuzzy distortion, reverb-soaked vocals, and experimental elements reminiscent of shoegaze and alternative rock.

Their music often features high-energy tracks like "Places" and "Stay Young," alongside more introspective pieces such as "Clothes." The band's sound is praised for its genre-hopping style, combining influences to create something unique and ambitious. Their recent releases, including songs like "The End is Built into the Beginning" and "Upbeat," showcase their ability to craft both melodic hooks and intense, noisy climaxes.
