Supergrass

Supergrass is a seminal British rock band, recognized for its compelling fusion of Britpop, punk, and mod influences, which resulted in a lively and infectious sound. The group was originally formed in 1993 in Oxford, England, by frontman Gaz Coombes, bassist Mick Quinn, and drummer Danny Goffey, with Rob Coombes officially joining on keyboards later on. Their energetic debut single "Caught by the Fuzz" made waves in 1994, swiftly followed by the release of their first studio album "I Should Coco" in 1995, which became the UK's fastest-selling debut album at the time. Supergrass attained critical and commercial success with their catchy, high-octane tracks such as "Alright," "Richard III," and "Pumping on Your Stereo."

Over the span of their career, Supergrass released six studio albums, each showcasing their ability to evolve while retaining their distinctive edge. Their second album "In It for the Money" (1997) saw them expanding their sound palette, and they continued to explore various styles in successive albums such as "Supergrass" (1999), "Life on Other Planets" (2002), and "Diamond Hoo Ha" (2008). Despite an amicable split in 2010, the enduring affection for their music prompted a reunion a decade later. This resurgence saw the band remastering classic albums and blessing fans with live performances, resulting in releases like "Supergrass (2022 Remaster)" and "Live on Other Planets (Live 2020)" which captured the undiminished energy and charisma of their lively concerts. The remastered edition of "Life on Other Planets" in 2023 continues to celebrate the band's rich legacy, ensuring their charismatic tunes continue to resonate with both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
