Floetry

Floetry, an English R&B duo composed of Marsha Ambrosius ("the Songstress") and Natalie Stewart ("the Floacist"), emerged in the late 1990s, bringing poetry and soulful R&B together in a unique blend that captivated listeners around the world. The duo initially met in London and bonded over their shared love for music and poetry, which laid the groundwork for their innovative sound. Their journey took a significant leap forward when they moved to the United States to pursue their musical career, leading to a deal with DreamWorks Records.

Their debut album, "Floetic" (2002), was a commercial and critical success, yielding hits like "Say Yes" and the title track, "Floetic", which showcased their signature mix of spoken word poetry and neo-soul rhythms. The album not only charted well, securing them a devoted fan base, but it also received several Grammy nominations, highlighting their creative contributions to the music industry. Over the years, Floetry continued to evolve, releasing albums such as "Flo'Ology" (2005) and engaging performances captured in "Floacism "Live"" (2003), which further solidified their place in the R&B genre. Despite taking separate paths in 2007 with both members pursuing solo careers, Floetry's influence remains, evident in their continued popularity and the waves of artists they've inspired. Their music, a testament to the power of combining spoken word with soulful melodies, continues to resonate with audiences new and old, ensuring their legacy within modern R&B.
