Cleo Valentine is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose music blends slowcore, rock, and country into emotionally raw, atmospheric songs. Raised in the Canadian mid-west by a rodeo bull-riding family, she began with classical guitar and songwriting, studying at Berklee College of Music and performing at the Umbria Jazz Festival. An avid surfer and the first female Canadian shortboard competitor on Oahu’s North Shore, a severe brain injury from a surfing accident profoundly shaped her sound and vocal style. Despite challenges affecting memory, motor control, and vocal capacity, Cleo crafts lush, grungy guitar textures and whispered vocals, delivering deeply evocative lyrics that explore intimacy, love, and heartbreak with a stream-of-consciousness freshness.
In addition to her music career, Cleo is also a photographer based in London, UK, integrating her own visual art into her creative identity. Her notable recent releases include songs like "That One Tattoo," "Sex & Cocaine," "These Days," and "Thinking About It," each showcasing her unique blend of emotional storytelling and textured soundscapes.
