Erlend Øye

Erlend Øye is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and producer best known for his work in two influential projects: Kings of Convenience (the Bergen-born indie folk/pop duo he formed with Eirik Glambek Bøe) and The Whitest Boy Alive (the indie pop band he fronted in the mid-to-late 2000s). With Kings of Convenience, he became widely associated with an intimate, acoustic sound and close vocal harmonies, while his work with The Whitest Boy Alive leaned more into sleek, rhythmic pop.

Outside of his bands, Øye has also built a solo career that highlights his melodic songwriting and understated delivery, and he’s been active as a DJ and remixer under the name DJ Erlend, connecting him to electronic and dance music scenes as well. Across these different lanes—gentle acoustic pop, minimalist indie grooves, and club-oriented sets—his style is often marked by clarity, warmth, and a quietly distinctive voice.
