Elder

Elder is a band synonymous with the fusion of stoner rock, progressive metal, and psychedelic sounds, adept at crafting expansive, layered, and often epic compositions. Formed in 2006 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the group has steadily risen to prominence within the heavy music sphere. The brainchild of Nick DiSalvo (guitarist/vocalist), the lineup has evolved over the years, with Jack Donovan (bass), and Georg Edert (drums) contributing to the current dynamic. Each member brings a wealth of influences and creativity that, when combined, result in a rich tapestry of sound that challenges genre boundaries.

The band's evolution is apparent through their discography, showing a relentless pursuit of musical growth and experimentation. "Lore" (2015) and "Reflections of a Floating World" (2017) are often celebrated as pivotal albums that pushed the envelope in terms of complexity and scope within the stoner rock genre. In 2019, Elder showcased their disposition to experiment with the more instrumental and meditative "The Gold & Silver Sessions," an EP that strays towards krautrock and ambient terrains. Their latest works, "Omens" (2020) and "Innate Passage" (2022), emphasize their progressive rock leanings while maintaining the heavy riffage that has become a hallmark of their sound.
