Virus Nine

Virus Nine was a fiery punk rock band hailing from Medford, Oregon, kicking off in 1996 (though some spots say '95) and rocking hard until they called it quits in 2012 with a heartfelt final show honoring founding member and close pal of vocalist Mike Estes, Josh "J-Train" Guillory. They built a solid rep in the punk scene with raw energy, dropping key releases like the 1998 "51' at Enewetak" 7-inch on Mental Records, 2002's *What Are You Afraid Of?* on A-F Records, and their sophomore banger *Blastin' Away!* in 2003—produced by punk legend Duane Peters of U.S. Bombs/The Huns fame—which fueled tours and tracks like "Just Ain't No Good," "Stay Proud! Stay True! Stay Punk!," and "Straight From The Heart."

These Southern Oregon punks stayed true to their hardcore roots, blending punk revival vibes with relentless attitude, and even scored rereleases in recent years to keep the fire alive for fans.
