Further Seems Forever is an American rock band formed in Pompano Beach, Florida, in 1998. Throughout its history, the band has experienced numerous lineup changes, with drummer Steve Kleisath and guitarist Josh Colbert remaining as steady members. The band is recognized for its role in the early 2000s emo and post-hardcore scenes, but their sound has also encompassed a wide range of alternative rock stylings. Their debut album, "The Moon Is Down" (2001), released under Tooth & Nail Records, was highly influential in the underground music scene and had Chris Carrabba as their original vocalist before he departed to focus on his other project, Dashboard Confessional.
Following Carrabba's departure, Further Seems Forever experienced a rotating cast of vocalists, including Jason Gleason on the sophomore release "How To Start A Fire" (2003), and Jon Bunch on "Hide Nothing" (2004). Each singer brought their own unique touch to the band's sound, contributing to a diverse discography that would resonate with a growing fan base. After disbanding in 2006, the group reconvened with Carrabba in 2010 to the delight of fans. The band's comeback album, "Penny Black" (2012), was a return to their roots and provided closure for fans, as it was the last album to feature the original line-up. They continue to influence a new generation of musicians, and their music remains a touchstone for those who appreciate the complexities and emotive qualities of alternative rock and post-hardcore music.
