Flying Machine

Flying Machine was a British pop band best known for their 1969 hit single "Smile a Little Smile for Me," which became a Top 5 hit in the United States. The group emerged during the late 1960s and grew out of the remnants of an earlier band called Pinkerton's Assorted Colours. Their sound blended soft rock with catchy melodies and a touch of sunshine pop, making them a memorable part of the era's pop music landscape.

Although Flying Machine's chart success was limited beyond their big hit, "Smile a Little Smile for Me" has endured as a classic of late '60s pop. The band released one album, Down to Earth with The Flying Machine, and saw a brief flash of fame before disbanding in the early 1970s.
