Truncate

Truncate is the pseudonym of the influential Los Angeles-based techno producer and DJ David Flores, who is also known in the undercurrents of the electronic music scene for his work as Audio Injection. Flores adopted the Truncate moniker to express a rawer, more stripped-down approach to techno music. With a career that has spanned over a decade, Truncate has become a torchbearer for unadulterated techno, his productions echoing the genre's fundamental ethos—rhythmically solid, unfussy, and designed for the visceral thrill of dance floor dynamics.

The artist’s discography showcases a relentless pursuit of the pure form of techno. His recent release, "Revisited, Vol. 1 (Remastered 2023)," not only highlights his continuous evolution but also brings his earlier work into the modern soundscape. Other works, such as "8 Cubed Remixes (Vol. 3)" featuring collaborations with Confidential Recipe, and the rhythm-infused "Work Ya Ass," stand testament to his relentless energy and his skill in crafting tracks that are equally at home in dark, sweaty clubs as they are at massive festivals. With releases like "The Heights EP," and "Intact EP," Truncate continues to hone a sound that is both progressive and respectful of techno's stripped-down roots. As his remixes, like "After Hour Sweets (Truncate Remix)" and "Toma (Truncate Remix)," continue to circulate internationally, Truncate solidifies his reputation for consistently delivering tight, propulsive techno that reverberates through the underground dance music community.
