Niillas Holmberg

Niillas Holmberg is a multi-talented Sámi artist, poet, and musician from Finland, deeply rooted in the traditions of the indigenous Sámi people. Growing up in the culturally rich environment of Sápmi (the Sámi homeland spanning northern Scandinavia and Russia's Kola Peninsula), he creates hauntingly beautiful music blending traditional Sámi joik vocals with contemporary folk and ambient sounds. His releases like *Luođik* and *Buollit* showcase his gift for merging ancient storytelling with modern production, often sung in his native Northern Sámi language as an act of cultural preservation.
