Paul Wirkus

Paul Wirkus is a drummer and producer known for his inventive work in improvised and avant-garde jazz, as well as electronic music. Born in 1967 in Poland and based in Cologne, Germany, Wirkus has been active since the late 1990s, earning acclaim for pushing the boundaries of both jazz and experimental music. His discography includes albums such as "Noc," "Ballads," "Déformation Professionnelle," and "Inteletto D’amore," each showcasing his dynamic approach to live and studio performance. Over the years, Wirkus has collaborated widely and is recognized for his ability to blend acoustic and electronic elements, often using minimalistic setups—like in "Inteletto D’amore," which was created live with just three mini disc recorders, highlighting his creative use of technology and spontaneity.
