TKAY

TKAY (born Takudzwa Rosa Maidza) is an Australian-Zimbabwean rapper, singer, and songwriter who’s become a force in the global hip-hop and electronic scenes. Blending sharp lyrical flows with genre-bending beats, she first turned heads with her 2014 debut EP *Switch Tape* and has kept the momentum with projects like *Last Year Was Weird* (a trilogy of EPs) and 2023’s *Sweet Justice*. Tracks like “Cashmere” and “Syrup” showcase her knack for mixing trap, R&B, and pop, while her recent collabs (like “Payday” and “Bad ‘N’ Boujee”) highlight her versatility and international appeal. Born in Zimbabwe, raised in Australia, and now splitting time between continents, TKAY’s music drips with cross-cultural swagger and a DIY ethos that’s earned her shoutouts from Billie Eilish to Diplo. She’s the kind of artist who can drop a fiery verse, croon a hook, and command a festival stage—all while keeping her signature playful energy intact.
