Fat Ray

Fat Ray is a Detroit-based rapper known for his early start in music, penning his first professionally recorded song at just 13 years old. He was signed to Capitol Barak Records in 2004, where he worked under the mentorship of the late Detroit producer J Dilla. Fat Ray's career has been marked by collaborations with influential figures in hip-hop, including a notable track with J Dilla titled "Stupid" on the "Dirty District Vol. 2" compilation. He joined Danny Brown's collective, the Bruiser Brigade, in 2013, which has become a significant part of his career. Fat Ray's music often pays homage to his Detroit roots and the sample-based sound of J Dilla, as seen in his album "Santa Barbara." He continues to be active in the music scene, recently releasing projects like "Prayer For The Players."
