Florence Bolton is a renowned French musician specializing in the viola da gamba. Born in 1970, she began her musical journey at the age of seven with the harpsichord and recorder before dedicating herself to the viola da gamba. She studied at the Saint-Cloud Conservatory and later at the CNSM in Lyon, where she earned a first prize in 2001. Bolton is also a master's degree holder in Japanese from INALCO. She co-founded the ensemble La Rêveuse with Benjamin Perrot, focusing on the musical heritage of the 17th and 18th centuries. Bolton has participated in numerous recordings with various labels and performs frequently in prestigious venues both in France and internationally. Her work often explores the intersection of music and visual arts, and she teaches viola and chamber music in Orleans.
