House of Large Sizes

**House of Large Sizes** was a dynamic alternative rock duo from Cedar Falls, Iowa, known for their gritty, high-energy sound that blended punk ferocity with catchy hooks. Formed in the late 1980s by husband-and-wife team Dave Deibler (guitar/vocals) and Barb Schilf (bass/vocals), the band carved out a cult following with their raw, riff-driven music and sweat-soaked live shows. Their 1990 breakout album, *Idiots out Wandering Around*, and follow-ups like *One Big Cake* (1993) and *Glass Cockpit* (1995) showcased their knack for pairing off-kilter lyrics with propulsive rhythms, earning them slots touring with acts like Fugazi and The Breeders. Though they called it quits in the late ’90s, their DIY spirit and punchy Midwestern rock left a lasting imprint on the indie scene.
