Luther Johnson was a blues guitarist and singer who was born in Macon, Georgia in 1934. He began playing guitar at an early age and was influenced by the likes of Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. In the 1950s, he moved to Chicago and began playing in local clubs. He eventually signed with Chess Records and released his debut album, "Luther's Blues," in 1959. Johnson continued to release albums throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and he toured extensively both in the United States and Europe. He was known for his powerful guitar playing and his soulful vocals. Johnson died in 1976 at the age of 42.
