K-pital is a Romanian eurotrance and techno music project that started in 1999, created by producers Alexandru Cernahoschi and Vlad Gheorghiu when they were just 21 years old. Early on, they teamed up with vocalist Mihaela Marinache, known as Miki, who was born on April 5, 1976, in Focsani. Miki brought a distinctive touch to the group with her love for house music and her vocal talents, having studied at the Scolii Populare de Arta. The project was among the pioneers of techno music in Romania and gained recognition with their first promo single "Drumul Spre Soare" and the music video for "Nu poti sa stai deoparte." Over time, Miki left to pursue a solo career, and singer Oana took over vocal duties for their later albums, including *Visuri* and *Într-O noapte*.
K-pital's sound is characterized by a blend of eurotrance and techno elements, reflecting the vibrant Romanian club scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s. They were supported and collaborated with various artists such as Yef, Tavi Meran, and Dee-Dee Parpalea. The group also included dancers in their lineup, enhancing their live performances. Miki’s solo career post-K-pital saw her nominated at the Festivalului de la Mamaia in 2003, signaling the lasting impact of their collaboration. K-pital remains respected as one of Romania’s first techno music projects, maintaining an active presence in the music scene for over two decades.
