Sea Fever is a Manchester-based five-piece collective known for blending electronic textures with indie-rock energy and featuring some of the most respected musicians on the UK music scene. Fronted by Iwan Gronow (formerly of Haven and Johnny Marr’s band) on vocals and guitars, alongside singer Beth Cassidy (Section 25), the group also includes New Order members Tom Chapman (bass, guitars, synths, programming) and Phil Cunningham (guitars), with Elliot Barlow on drums. Formed in 2019, the band emerged when its members wanted to create and explore new music together, drawing from a wide range of influences—everything from upbeat pop and melancholic minor chords to surf guitars and electronic rhythms.
Sea Fever made their debut with the album *Folding Lines*, then continued with singles like "Crossed Wires" (featuring New Order’s Stephen Morris on drums) and "De Facto," showcasing a dynamic, genre-blurring approach. Their second album, *Surface Sound*, released in May 2025, features the bold, synth-punk inspired single “Able Eyes,” which highlights their evolving sound and collective knack for emotive, anthemic songwriting. The band is celebrated for their collaborative spirit and deep musical roots that pulse through fresh, contemporary tracks.
