Ammonia

**Ammonia** was a ’90s alt-rock trio from Perth, Australia, known for blending grunge grit with melodic hooks. Formed in 1992, the band—frontman Dave Johnstone (vocals/guitar), drummer Alan Balmont, and bassist Phil Natt—jolted the Aussie music scene with their 1995 debut *Mint 400*. The album’s standout track, “You’re Not the Only One Who Feels This Way,” became a radio staple, capturing their knack for moody, riff-driven anthems. They followed up with 1998’s *Eleventh Avenue*, featuring tracks like “Sleepwalking” and “Drugs,” which leaned into darker, textured sounds but kept their signature raw energy. Despite touring globally and sharing stages with acts like Silverchair, Ammonia called it quits in 1999, leaving behind a short-but-impactful catalog that still resonates with fans of ’90s alternative rock.
