Mulga Bore Hard Rock is a six-piece band made up of family members from the remote desert community of Akaye (also known as Mulga Bore) in central Australia, about two hours northeast of Alice Springs. The group, led by frontman Alvin Manfong, blends their Anmatjerre heritage with a gritty, spiritual glam rock sound that channels the vastness and intensity of the outback. Despite coming from a community with fewer than 40 people, they’ve made a big impact, earning praise for their raw, radiant energy and even opening for rock legends KISS on their Australian tour.
They burst onto the scene with their debut single "Young Men" in 2024, sung in Anmatjerre and celebrating their homeland and culture through powerful rock riffs. Following that, they released singles like "Sweet Home Mulga Bore" and "Heavy Rain," continuing to build momentum with their exhilarating style that fuses tradition and modern rock. Mulga Bore Hard Rock stands out as a vibrant new force in Australian music, bringing the spirit of the desert to the glam-rock stage with a fresh and authentic voice.
